6MWD: Laying out pages

I’ve started to layout some pages based on the prototypes.

It may not look like much, but progress is being made which makes me excited. I was able to change the tabbed navigation to the design. I’ve even managed to quickly get both metric and imperial forms toggled on home page (see image below).

I thought I would be able to display the predicted distance on the same page but it looks like I won’t have room for it on the imperial segment of the page. I’ll have to pivot and make it display on a new page. This gives me the opportunity to learn how to pass data around from one page/component to another. Looking forward to it.

Next Steps

  • Start with metric form calculation functionality
  • Display distance on a page for metric form for now
  • Start writing tests, good opportunity now that I have a bit more of an idea of what I want to test given the current layout
